Starting the day off with an energizing and vitamin-rich juice is one easy way to eat your greens, without sacrificing too much time or effort.
At the beginning of the week, clean, trim and package fruit and vegetable combinations to minimize early morning fussing. Streamlining your morning will create a solid foundation for the rest of the day, and facilitates adopting healthy new habits. If your morning juice is a two-step process, it’s much easier to incorporate and will boost your success rate – not to mention the brainpower and energy boost you’ll feel as you head out the door!
Combine a colourful variety of fruits and vegetables in your juicer or blender to create the ultimate health boost. Depending on your priorities, you may want to incorporate ingredients like:
-dark greens (detoxifying, rich in minerals)
-cucumber (boosts your glow)
-spirulina (an amazing superfood high in amino acids and b12)
-chia seeds (high in protein)
-celery (high in antioxidants, lowers blood pressure)
-apple (provides fibre, sweetness)
-lemon (detoxifying, immune boosting)
Choose your favourite combination, or try ours:
1 Granny Smith apples, halved, cored, finely chopped
1 2″ piece English hothouse cucumber, finely chopped
1/2 cup (packed) fresh spinach1/2 cup brewed green tea, room temperature
1 tbsp fresh mint leaves plus 2 sprigs mint
1 tbsp honey
